Originally from Nelson, Kiri grew up in the Eastern Suburbs of Bucklands Beach and Pakuranga. After taking on lead vocals in a few garage bands around the area, Kiri set her sights on making a career of music and performed in various bands and continually improving her songwriting and vocal skills. As she developed her craft, Kiri began to lend her voice to other upcoming artists and can be heard on Che Fu's track 'Remember to forget', as well as international artists Jamie Cullum and Sarah Blasko's albums.
"This thoroughly engaging and talented singer/songwriter has 'earned her stripes' ... and momentum is building as her reputation for penning great songs grows. The style is a combination of pop/folk rock/soul which allows for a unique flavour and really showcase's Kiri's vocal talent. Her voice is clear but with plenty of character which makes her vocals immediately recognisable." ENZ Ltd
"Her songs: fresh and unique. Her vocals: New Zealand's answer to Tori Amos. Her live performance: wear a seatbelt! Kiri's music is a hybrid of pop and acoustic soul that will have you humming her hooks for days - in the car, in the shower, at work...as Kiwi as it gets, Kiri is an artist that New Zealanders should be proud to call their own." Tami Neilson, musician.
